The Bradford Schools Drug Prevention Initiative has received a cash boost to help it fight its war on drugs.
Kirkgate acting centre manager, Steve Seymour, has recently qualified as an assessor for the scheme which encourages schools to adopt a policy on drugs related issues.
He was so impressed with the scheme's success that he handed over a £200 donation on the centre's behalf.
"As a parent, drugs are obviously an issue that is a major concern and I think that we all have a responsibility to do what we can to educate young people about the dangers," he said.
"One of the great things about BSDPI is that it focuses on peer education, which means young people educating other young people. This is much more effective than adults preaching at them and hopefully helps to get the message across."
Police Constable Gordon Eddison, who accepted the cheque from Mr Seymour, said: "We're always looking for people to become involved and businesses to provide us with cash support so the backing from Steve and the Kirkgate Centre is great news."
