Richard Wheatley won his first Yorkshire order of merit event when he beat Steve Brennan at the second extra hole to take the Pannal Rose Bowl.
The 21-year-old Bingley St Ives course record holder finished level-par after 36 holes on 144.
He followed his first-round 74 with a two-under 70 to force the play-off with Brennan (Wheat-ley).
After both players parred the first extra hole, Wheatley struck at the second with another par, while Brennan hit trouble when he landed in the greenside bunker. He struggled to get out cleanly and a bogey handed the trophy to Wheatley.
It more than made up for the disappointment in missing the cut in the Welsh amateur open in Llandudno two weeks before and losing out in the first round after reaching the Yorkshire amateur matchplay stages at Alwoodley last week.
Although he is not making an all-out assault on the order of merit - the Pannal Trophy was only his second event of the year - Wheatley could pick up some more points tomorrow when he takes part in the Sand Moor Masters.
lGhyll made the most of home adantage to take the nine-hole club championship - a repeat of the last time they won in 1986.
It was also the fifth time in the last seven years that the host club has take the honours.
Howard Tyrer - at one the lowest handicap member of the team - led the way with 69, the lowest round of the day in a team total of 298.
He was supported by Andrew Harling and Anthony Turner with 76s and Bradford Union team captain Andy Riley with 77.
That left Ghyll seven shots clear of second-placed Bradford Moor from an entry of 11 teams. Moor's best performer was Martin Foster with 71 - the second best round of the day.
Club captain Neil Harker-Bell weighed in with 76 and there were 79s from Paul Sutcliffe and Matthew Roche.
