Wantaway goalkeeper Matt Clarke has no qualms about being back with Bradford City after rejecting the chance of the Premiership high life with Fulham.
The transfer-listed stopper was training with City yesterday after refusing to go on loan to the London high rollers.
Clarke completed an amazing u-turn after his agent Ian Elliott had agreed a one month spell with Jean Tigana's side.
His move even caught the Premier League by surprise with a spokesman admitting: "As far as we are concerned, he is still a Fulham player. We haven't been told otherwise."
Faxes signed by both clubs were sent to the football authorities on Sunday. But yesterday Clarke was being put through his paces at Woodhall.
Clarke declined to comment but his agent told the Telegraph & Argus: "It was a difficult one to try and sort out because Matt didn't return from America until Sunday.
"He looked at the situation and after a long chat on Monday he feels he doesn't have to prove himself on loan.
"He went to Bolton and they got promoted and he did a very good job at Bradford. He believes his record therefore speaks for itself.
"Matt's attitude now is that he wants to knuckle down to training. And if he is picked to play for Bradford, he will do the best that he can.
"I spoke amicably to the chairman and his attitude is the same as mine. Bradford are a professional club, Matt is a professional player and he will be afforded the same courtesy as any other player."
Boss Jim Jefferies, who axed Clarke in December, said: "I'm surprised because I thought it was all done and dusted but Matt was a bit fed up having to go to clubs to prove himself.
"After one or two things that were said when he left for Bolton, it looked like he would probably move on. But these things do break down.
"He's back training with us now like the other lads and we'll take it from there."
Fulham could technically still face picking up Clarke's wage bill until August 8 because he has been registered as their loan player.
Managing director Michael Fiddy said: "It seems to be a miss-communication between the agent and his player. The agent has inadvertently made a mistake and misrepresented his player's views.
"But we understood that he acted in his player's best interests."
