A Bradford plumbing company has become the first to take on a new apprentice under a scheme targeted at ethnic minority youngsters.
IDM, based in Killinghall Road, has offered a placement to Mohammed Asif from Halifax as part of the GO-FOR-IT! project.
Mr Asif has been offered a three-year plumbing apprenticeship which will see him become a fully-qualified heating engineer.
Both IDM and Mr Asif will receive support from the government's New Deal programme.
IDM partner Keith Attwood, pictured with Asif, said: "We were impressed with the standard of all the GO-FOR-IT! trainees who came forward for interview."
