Everton have joined Bolton and Fulham in a three-way chase for Bradford City goalkeeper Matt Clarke.
Goodison boss Walter Smith has switched his attentions back to transfer-listed Clarke after being priced out of the market for Wigan's Northern Ireland stopper Roy Carroll.
Rival Division One clubs have also shown an interest but ambitious Clarke, 27, is determined to play in the Premiership.
His agent Ian Elliott said: "There have been a few enquiries. We hope something will surface soon but we are very flexible.
"If he has to start the season at Bradford, so be it. We aren't in a panic situation.
"Premiership clubs are never going to guarantee you the first-choice position, we don't expect that. But at that level you need two top-quality goalkeepers and we know Matt fits the bill.
"Jim Jefferies has been very good about it and while Matt is still at the club, he will be looked after like any player.
"And what people have overlooked is that if Matt Clarke were to stay at Bradford, they would have one of the best keepers in the First Division."
Clarke is currently at Catterick army camp with City and Jefferies said: "I've heard bits and pieces about him moving but nothing particularly concrete.
"But his attitude has been fine. The players have been working in teams and Matt has really got into it just like the rest."
Fulham have not been put off after Clarke snubbed a loan offer earlier this week.
Elliott said: "Jean Tigana has never seen Matt play which could prove a sticking point.
"But he knows Matt has played well in the Premier League and seen the videos. There is still interest there."
Bolton, where Clarke spent two months on loan last season, had a reported £500,000 offer laughed off by Jefferies last month but could come back after struggling to sign Everton's Thomas Myhre.
Coventry may also enter the bidding if they can't hang on to £6 million-rated Chris Kirkland, who has been frequently linked with Liverpool. Big defender Robert Molenaar is pictured vaulting over a wall at Catterick army camp during City's training session there.
