Bradford City footballers Wayne Jacobs and Gareth Whalley are trying a different pitch - as partners in a new architecture firm.
The Bantams duo have teamed up with architect and keen supporter, David Moore to form Provizion First in Baildon.
The new venture has been up and running since July 1 and several jobs have already been lined up.
Mr Jacobs, the club's longest-serving player, said: "We were interested in putting finance into something and having chatted for advice to David, it led us to thinking we could get him on board and move into architecture.
"He is a lovely fella and Bradford City nuts which is how I met him. David's been doing the job for 30 years so we knew we could trust his experience.
"And we wanted it to be based somewhere in Bradford.
"I've been here seven years now and last year my family moved up which was a big step. It was our choice to plant our roots here so to put the business here as well was key for us.
"We know that 95 per cent of our work will be in this area."
Mr Whalley, who plays in the Bantams' midfield, said: "Because football is such a short career you have to plan for the future.
"You have different ideas about what to do when you finish playing and this is another option.
"We looked at redeveloping properties but it would have been a shame not to use David Moore's skills as an architect.
"We will like to get involved in certain aspects of the business although obviously we can't let it get in the way of our football."
Mr Jacobs added: "We want it to be a nice company to work for and there's no intention to be heavy handed or crack the whip.
"We just want to do it right and with David's great experience in the business, we are sure it is going to do well."
