The Official Receiver's Office is investigating the collapse of a Bradford travel firm which has left scores of people out of pocket.
Customers were not told anything about the reasons for the collapse of Shaw's Travel in Wyke, or whether they would get their money back.
Graham Hebblethwaite, divisional manager of West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service, said 40 customers had complained about the firm after a story about its collapse appeared in the Telegraph & Argus .
"The Official Receivers' Office has now stepped in and is dealing with the matter," he said.
A spokesman for the Official Receivers' Office said Alan Shaw, of Shaw's Travel, had filed for bankruptcy on June 26. "He has not yet been interviewed by the receiver but that should happen in the near future and then we will have a better idea of what to do regarding people who have lost money.
"It's absolutely vital that people get in touch if they have lost money so we can establish the amount of debt."
The T&A has also received more complaints from people who have lost money. Erna Jowett, of Queensbury, had organised a ladies' holiday.
"We have paid over £275 in deposits and we don't know where we stand about getting the money back. We can't book another holiday with a different firm."
Anyone who had a holiday booked at Shaw's Travel should contact the Official Receivers' Office on (0113) 233 8222.
