David Wetherall is ready to come back fitter than ever for Bradford City.
The influential Bantams centre-half is easing his way back from the groin injury which dogged him last term.
But he is hopeful that the troubles which restricted him to only half a season's action are a thing of the past.
Wetherall said: "We are sure it's finally been all sorted out and I'm feeling a lot better about it than I have.
"Hopefully I can now get a good couple of weeks of pre-season training under my belt which will set me up for the league matches.
"I've obviously got to be a little bit careful but I've been doing some running and hopefully it won't be too long before I can join in with everybody else.
"I had never experienced a season like last year and I want to put it behind me."
City were training today after their tough stint at Catterick army camp. Stuart McCall said: "I don't think there is one bone in my body that isn't aching or one muscle that isn't throbbing."
