A Bingley woman is taking steps to raise cash for youngsters with learning disabilities.
Amy Pickard, pictured, is aiming to complete the 127-mile Leeds-Liverpool Canal trek in four days in aid of the Hawthorn Nursery in Leeds.
Amy, who is a friend of a pupil's parent and co-ordinator of a burglary reduction scheme, chose to undertake the challenge, despite not being a keen walker.
She will be accompanied by her physiotherapist boyfriend Jamie Bell for the first three days of the route and joined by family and friends during the final stages.
"I have been doing some training at my local gym and I am getting out walking at weekends," she said. "My target for the event is 30 miles a day and I am determined to achieve it."
The fundraising stint will culminate in an evening celebration at Amy's parents' pub - the Woolpack at Esholt - on August 20.
Anyone wishing to sponsor Amy can contact her on (01274) 569523.
