Enquiry teams have been set up to investigate offences of robbery, criminal damage and violent disorder in Bradford.

One team is to target incidents in the Newline area of Greengates at 11pm on Sunday, July 8. A second team is investigating serious public disorder on the Ravenscliffe estate on Monday, July 9.

A police spokesman said: "On the Sunday masked youths attacked parked cars outside the Kebabeesh restaurant in Newline and windows with what has been described as 'wooden bats'."

The offenders smashed the restaurant's front windows and some went inside, caused damage and attempted to remove the till.

"Up to 30 white youths are believed to have been involved, aged 18 to 25, wearing face masks or face coverings and carrying baseball bats," added the spokesman. They then ran along Newline to the Save Petrol Station.

A petrol pump, windows, internal fixtures and fittings were damaged. The till and stock was stolen. The Asian male cashier was uninjured but shaken. Offenders ran into Ravenscliffe estate via Roundwood Glen and adjoining snickets, which lead into the bottom of the estate, where vehicles were stoned.

Detective Sergeant Glenn Adkin, of Bradford North police, appealed to local people to identify those responsible.

Anyone with information should contact the enquiry teams at Bradford North Police on (01274) 376085 or 376063.
