ON Tuesday, August 7, Otley town centre will buzz with all the action and atmosphere of a top sports event when the Otley Cycle Road Race takes place.
The race is on a partly closed circuit round the town with plenty of action for the thousands who flock there to view it.
It is a prestigious event attracting first-class international riders, as well as premier and local entrants.

In the National Vets 50-mile TT held in Cumbria, on the Cockermouth to Keswick road, Otley Cycle Club's super vet Jim Bailey took the championship award with a plus of 48 and Nigel Austin recorded 1-58.53 with a plus of 32.
The Evening 12-mile event on Wednesday, promoted by Yorkshire Clarion, was held in dreadful conditions with high winds accompanied by rain. Tim Howcroft recorded 30min 57sec and Nigel Brown, 33min 18sec.
The Yorkshire Vets 10-mile TT, held on the Walshford - Boroughbridge road in high wind and rain, Sheldon Howcroft recorded 27min 42sec and Arnold Sowden 29min 08sec.
