Violent crime in Bradford is four times more likely to be solved than in other areas of a similar size and population.
Detectives in Bradford Central and Toller Lane police stations came top for solving the attacks when compared to similar areas around the country.
Detectives in Toller Lane are more than four times more likely to catch violent thugs than officers in Hounslow, west London, as are their counterparts at Bradford Central compared to those in Lambeth, in the south of the capital.
Assistant Chief Constable Greg Wilkinson highlighted a number of specialist teams and innovations as key in achieving the success rate.
He also said detectives had a possibly unique relationship with the community in Bradford.
"Officers in these divisions do proactively work on intelligence and vigorously pursue assailants and arrest offenders quickly," he said.
The Home Office results, which group together police stations based on demographics, show Bradford stations leading the field in detection.
Toller's team of officers had an 83.3 per cent success rate in solving violent crimes with the second placed station, Slough in Berkshire, managing 62.6 per cent. Bradford Central notched up 74.4 per cent with the next best station, based around the Aston area of the West Midlands, scoring 70.9 per cent.
The results easily beat the average rate for Yorkshire and The Humber of 72 per cent and the nationwide level of 55 per cent.
The crime figures involved forces being grouped together in what the police described as 'families'.
Bradford Central's detection rate for violent crime of 74.4 per cent was in stark contrasted to Birmingham city centre which had a 54 per cent rate.
And Toller Lane's figure of 83.3 per cent trounced every force in its 'family' with only one in five crimes being detected in some forces.
Odsal's detection rate of 79.4 per cent compared favourably with the highest in its group. Middlesbrough was the lowest clearing up just over half of violent crimes reported.
Another highlight has been the Doorstaff Registration Scheme for pubs and clubs in the area.
It has led to a 90 per cent reduction in violent crime against doormen since being set up ten years ago.
Bradford is also part of scheme to combat domestic violence where divisional officers work alongside specialist police teams to help victims and deal with offenders.
ACC Wilkinson said: "We are proud of the efforts of all our police officers and have some extremely skilled investigators and crime evaluators.
"Officer and support staff are working hard to reduce crime and make the city a safer place.
"People will be pleased to see that those who commit violent crime are likely to be caught because of the dedication of our officers and innovative crime reduction schemes."
The stations repeated their billing with clean up rates for sexual offences and robbery at Bradford Central again topping the list in house burglaries.
A police spokesman said: "We have a number of specialist teams, for example that on robbery and violent crime is one of the key crimes we are targeting. We are an intelligence led force which means we work a lot with the community but we also try to see the victims' side in cases which has helped with our work."
