Claus Jorgensen is itching for his first taste of proper action for Bradford City.
The 25-year-old Danish midfielder joined City in time for pre-season after leaving Second Division Bournemouth on a Bosman move.
And after a fortnight's fitness slog with his new team-mates, Jorgen-sen cannot wait to get started on the friendlies.
City, who fly to Northern Ireland tomorrow, open up against Glentoran on Thursday and Jorgensen said: "I'm not the only one round here that is desperate to play some football.
"You need to build up the basic fitness levels in pre-season but you can't beat playing.
"So far it's just been a case for me of training and then going back to the hotel to rest as much as I can before going through it all again the following day.
"But it's been a pleasure to meet all the lads and I don't feel like the new boy anymore. There is a good atmosphere around the place and I feel very much part of the squad.
"The three days we spent at the army camp was a great place to get to know the others for the first time.
"We've also done a few double sessions since and there hasn't been much football apart from a couple of practice games.
"But now we are going into the Northern Ireland tour, we will have the chance to get out there and play a bit.
"I haven't spoken much to the manager yet about where I will play but no doubt this week we will have more discussions as the matches start."
