Young people on the Thorpe Edge Estate, Bradford, have been given a pat on the back by the secretary of the Residents Association for successfully completing two projects. Mr James Moran says youngsters on the estate have inherited many social problems which were the result of actions by other generations. The lack of strategically-sited play areas was an example of this, he says.
From the Telegraph & Argus of July 23rd, 1951...Bingley's Festival of Britain celebrations concluded this weekend with a gala in Myrtle Park on Saturday and a thanksgiving service in Mornington Road Methodist Church yesterday afternoon. The official opening of the gala was preceded by a parade of tableux and a fancy dress competition through the town.
