Eighteen-year-old Craig Hustwit bowed out of the junior scene with the star performance at the team championships at Woodhall Hills.
But his two-under-par round of 68 could not quite give Calverley the title as they were pipped by Shipley.
With Daniel Littlewood adding a nett 71 and Ian Adams 69 for a team total of 203, Calverley finished one stroke behind the winners. Matthew Fassihi was the non-counter with his 73.
Shipley took the honours thanks to three sub-par nett rounds from their scorers. Chris Green was best with 66, Darryl Rowley shot 67 and Oliver Sharp 69 for the 202 total with Peter Brown the discarded score on 80.
Shipley and Calverley go on to represent Bradford in the Daily Telegraph-backed Northern junior team finals at Eaglescliffe in September.
In pleasant, if breezy, conditions 22 teams took part in the event. Last year's winners Silsden were well off the pace, turning in a team total of 226. Their team included the only girl competitor, Claire Starkie who made their scoring team with her nett 78.
Best nett prize went to Adam Banks from Woodhall Hills. The 17-handicapper went round in 81 for a nett 64.
Bradford juniors have three inter-district matches lined up for the summer holidays next month starting away to Teesside at Richmond on Monday, August 6. They then take on Harrogate at Shipley the following Monday and play Leeds away on Thursday, August 30.
