Bradford Bulls coach Brian Noble today hailed his versatile teenager Leon Pryce, named man of the match in Sunday's 44-22 victory over Leeds Rhinos at Valley Parade.
The 19-year-old may be earmarked as the natural successor to Gloucester-bound Henry Paul at stand-off.
But Pryce, who doesn't turn 20 until October, gave an excellent performance at full back in a derby spectacular.
"Leon was outstanding among others in the team," said Noble. "We have got so much young talent throughout the game of rugby league, and he is just one part of that."
He added with an obvious reference to the departing Henry Paul: "If one player goes then another is re-born. We have always done it, and we always will do it.
"Leeds had some outstanding players as well, and the game was a fantastic spectacle."
Pryce, whose near length-of-the-field try in the 71st minute effectively killed the Rhinos off, admitted: "I didn't realise at the time how important the try was.
"I didn't know how long was left or what the score was until I looked up at the scoreboard after I crossed."
The England international added: "The score-line at the end really didn't reflect the game too much. Leeds played extremely well."
Pryce, who only played as the last line of defence because Michael Withers failed a morning fitness test, added that it was easier to play full back alongside such a dominant pack of forwards.
