Rawdon and Guiseley cruised through potentially tricky Aire-Wharfe semi-finals to produce a mouthwatering Waddilove Cup final that should see a large crowd pack into Ilkley's Denton Road ground on August 12.

Guiseley are determined to go one better this year, especially as they are losing ground on Bilton in the race to defend their championship crown.

Having set a target of 159 for six, largely thanks to the efforts of brothers Mark and Simon Ross, Guiseley ripped through the early Beckwithshaw batting, reducing them to 22 for five in the first 18 overs.

Neil Allitt was the star of the show, returning five for 15, while at the other end Marcus Brown frustrated the batsmen, conceding only four runs off his nine overs. Andrew Paley then weighed in with three for 17 as Guiseley clinched a 62-run win with nearly five overs remaining.

Rawdon's blitzing of Adel was achieved even more quickly. Again accurate bowling was at the heart of the triumph, Neil Waite taking three for seven off five overs, with Kenrick Marshall taking two for two.

With only 82 to beat, Matthew Doyle (42no) and Craig Walsh (26no) guided Rawdon to their first final since 1995 in 16.3 overs.

Having crushed Steeton the previous day in the league, with Marshall (5-19) and Jamie Davey (4-42) starring, Rawdon have now won their last five starts.

Guiseley, on the other hand, haven't won a league game in July, and though they got the better of Collingham - Mark Ross (74) and Barry McCormick (61) leading the way - they only took four points and are now on 50 points alongside Rawdon and Follifoot.

That's one point behind North Leeds, surprisingly beaten by Adel, and eight short of leaders Bilton, who crushed Knaresbor-ough by ten wickets.

Follifoot's rise up the table came at the expense of struggling Skipton, who laboured in the field as Chris Newton (146no) and Neil Walker (104no) set up a new record for the third wicket of 255. However Skipton did hang on for a point, mainly thanks to Martin Windall's battling 66.

James Dracup hit nine fours and a six in an undefeated 81 as Menston moved closer to safety by taking four points off Beckwithshaw.

Green Lane remain top of Division B after a winning draw at Illingworth in which Simon Curry (53) and Toby Koch (76) starred, but Silsden's promotion hopes were dashed as they crashed out for 113 to lose to Kirkstall, who now ook set to go up for a second successive season after joining the league.

Burley's challenge also faltered, despite Nick Brook taking six wickets for the second week in a row, as they struggled to two points against Calverley.

Tong Park were unable to find an answer to the accurate bowling of Jonathan Haigh (5-47) and slipped to a surprise defeat to the bottom club, who consequently climbed out of the relegation zone.

Harden maintained their hopes of following in Kirkstall's footsteps with a five-wicket win at Colton that takes them into third place, ten points behind Pool, who are tucked in, two points from leaders Bardsey.

Addingham slipped up in their Division Three match at Bolton Villas despite an unbeaten century by Andy Murray.

Steady batting by Villas, especially by Barry Hawksworth (64) saw them to their third win in four starts.

A half century from Nishan Gosalkarale helped Horsforth to a win over Ben Rhydding.

A five wicket spell from Leigh Ellis was the highlight of Olicanian's comfortable victory over Pool Mills.
