The company behind a major £800,000 pub development in Bradford's Ivebridge House site is giving people in the district chance to help name it.

The scheme, by brewers Bass, is part of the Goose pub chain and the company is seeking information about the history of the site to come up with a suitable name.

The pub, on the corner of Market Street and Bridge Street, will open at the end of November and is expected to create 25 full and part-time jobs.

Managing director of developers Landmark Development Projects Richard Morton said: "The thing about the Goose pub is that Bass did a deal with us for the ground floor with an option on the first floor, and then decided that they were going to delay the opening and use both floors because they have such confidence in the market."

To make sure that the pub blends in with the city landscape, the developers have appealed to Bradfordians to help name it by uncovering the building's history and any local characters associated with it.

Goose pubs are offering a free meal and bottle of wine to the first 20 people who supply genuine information or photography.

Mr Mason said: "We value the history of the buildings we choose for our pubs and realise the importance that customers put on maintaining links with the past which is why we are keen to hear their views."

Landmark Development Projects has already invested millions of pounds in numerous projects throughout the Bradford district.

Now it is involved in a city centre living project in Ivebridge House in Bridge Street and has sold 12 out of the 15 flats in the development.

Anyone who can supply information about the pub site is asked to call Sian Clifford at Barkers on (0121) 236 9501 before August 17.
