Children from Highfield spearheaded attempts to clean up their neighbourhood at the weekend.
They joined Keighley regeneration chief Lynne Joyce and adult volunteers on a trek round the streets picking up litter.
The team, supported by Bradford council cleansing workers, also took away unwanted items that residents had been asked to leave outside their houses.
The clean-up is one of a number of environmental projects being carried out as part of Highfield's £4 million Single Regeneration Budget initiative.
Keighley Area Panel, the council's local committee, has set aside £10,000 for similar community clean-ups in the future.
The money pays for items such as sacks, gloves, publicity leaflets and running costs of dustbin wagons and skips.
