Youngsters in Cullingworth took to the streets in protest yesterday against the number of heavy wagons travelling along their street.
Children in Parkside Terrace blockaded the road to stop a procession of lorries turning down their narrow street into Parkside School.
They say the loud rumbling noise caused by wagons at 7am in the mornings is disturbing their peace.
Youngsters also complained that the number of HGVs travelling to and from the secondary school, which is currently being enlarged, was posing a threat to their safety.
Callum Hawksworth, 13, said: "We are sick of hearing wagons at all times of the day, especially early in the morning."
Wayne Liddon, 17, added: "A lot of us play in this area and the number of lorries is making it more dangerous for us."
Parents in Parkside Terrace were also angered by the lack of consultation with residents over plans to move portable classrooms from the site yesterday and today to make way for construction of a parking area.
Heather Brame said: "The police, school or contractors didn't tell us this was going to happen and the first thing we knew about it was yesterday morning.
"I think they should have at least informed us about what was going to happen."
A spokesman for Balfour Beatty said: "There is a monthly liaison meeting and there was a meeting two weeks ago when the liaison representative was told that this activity was going to take place.
