THE 105th annual tournament of Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club will include a Sunday Telegraph David Lloyd Leisure Grand Prix tournament between July 28 and August 4.

With the fifth Junior Grand Prix season now under way, young British tennis players have now begun to battle against each other to play in the finals, held at the prestigious Boca Raton Resort and Club, Florida.

Girls and boys, aged Under-14 and Under-18, compete in as many of the 55 nominated LTA tournaments to gain points, which are fed into a national leader board and are updated and published regularly in The Sunday Telegraph and on the dedicated website www.tennis.net.

At the end of the summer, the results are collated and the top five players in each category will automatically qualify for the Grand Prix Final.

In addition, 12 wild cards will be selected to join the national leader board qualifiers. Up to two players from LTA National Training and up to one player from David Lloyd leisure in each category.

A total of 32 junior players will be flown out on October 30, and will spend an all-expenses paid week at the world-famous Boca Raton Resort, Florida, to play in the televised Grand Prix Finals.

The annual Ilkley open tournament, sponsored by Skipton Building Society and OHS, starts on Saturday, July 28, and runs through to finals day on Saturday, August 4. This year there is no entry fee and the club looks forward to welcoming anyone interested in watching the top tennis action that is always a feature of the event.

This week the club has been playing host to Ladies County Cup. Six Counties are competing for the Division Three title.

Ross Connolly won the singles title at this year's annual club championships.

He won an enthralling three set match against Andy Hutchinson to add the men's singles title to the under-18 title he won earlier in the day.

They both contributed to another entertaining match when Connolly and Johnny Yip proved too strong for Andy and brother Gareth Hutchinson in the men's doubles final.

The ladies singles saw a reversal of fortune from last year with Angela Harker overcoming Georgina Jackson in two sets. Georgina however had some consolation in winning the ladies doubles with Anita Perry and the mixed doubles with James Booker.

In the junior events Maria Kouvatsos made a clean sweep of the girls singles titles winning the under- 12, under-14, under-16 and under-18 events. All the more remarkable considering she is only 11years-old.

Ben Murray-Potts was another junior dominating more than one age group taking the boys under-16 and under-14 titles.
