Woodlands and Bankfoot are set for a showdown on Saturday which could go a long way towards deciding who tops the Bowes Section and clinches promotion to Division One.

Both teams had comfortable victories over Keighley and Saltaire respectively as they maintained their great battle for honours.

Safraz Ahmed demonstrated what a fine overseas signing he has proved to be by taking six for 36 as Woodlands skittled Keighley for 83.

They didn't have things all their own way though and were made to endure a few scares before securing a five-wicket success.

Bankfoot kept up their winning run by shooting out Saltaire for 86. Their overseas player Saleem Mughal took three for four and hit 46 not out as they triumphed by nine-wickets.

Third-placed Idle went one better. They crushed Drighlington by ten wickets with the league's leading runscorer Hassan Adnan making an unbeaten 77 to steer his side home.

One of the best game of the day saw Morley pip Great Horton by two runs - despite a superb innings of 114 by Sean Fitzsimmons.

Colin Nuthall returned to form for Morley by top scoring with 70 in their total of 200.

Lightcliffe retained the leadership of the Verity Section with a seven-wicket triumph over Manningham Mills. Their new-ball bowlers Mubashir Nazir and James Horne each took four wickets while in-form batsman Nick Pyrah hit an unbeaten 85.

Second-placed Mirfield returned to winning ways as they saw off bottom team Windhill be seven-wickets.

Their pace bowler Mohammad Asif took six for 56 as the young Windhill side were dismissed for 119.

Mahboob Hussain made an unbeaten 82 to steer Salts to an eight-wicket win over Hartshead Moor.
