Bradford's sporting heroes and business representatives are joining forces for a big feel-good party to restore Bradford's dented image after the riots.
The 12-hour event, called Confidence in Bradford, will feature musicians and other entertainers and is aimed at encouraging people to come back into the city.
It is being organised by Omar Khan, owner of the Shah Jehan curry house in Little Horton Lane, where the event will be held on August 7.
Mr Khan, who was one of the peacemakers on the night of the violent disturbances on July 7, said: "It was a group of idiots who ruined Bradford's image in just one night after years of hard work that we put into making this city a great place to work and live.
"We have to show the rest of the country that Bradford is still here and we are still working very hard.
"I've noticed that fewer people are coming into the city, especially at night, and we can't let this one day's trouble ruin Bradford forever."
Grant Ross, general manager of The Midland Hotel, said the hotel was dedicated to the future of Bradford and would be represented at the party.
Geoffrey Richmond, chairman of Bradford City, said the club would also give its support.
"The problem that Bradford is going through at the moment will be helped by a whole series of events, from low-profile events in everyday life to high-profile ones like this one," he said.
Bradford Bulls chief executive Abi Ekoku said some of his team would be at the event.
Families are encouraged to join in the fun, from noon, when there will be face painting and games for children.
Mr Khan will unveil the re-vamped restaurant's new name and host a raffle in aid of a community minibus appeal, organised by Bradford Sport and Recreation Association for People with Disabilities.
The closing date for entries for the 'guess the new name' competition, which should include a donation to the minibus appeal, is Friday.
Mr Khan said he had been planning an event to raise money for the appeal and re-launch the restaurant and had decided to combine the occasions with a major Bradford promotion.
