There will be a big welcome for the president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Mr. Chaudhry Noor Hussain, when he arrives in London tomorrow for an official tour of this country. So many of his fellow countrymen will turn out to greet him - there will be 12 coaches from Bradford, three from Keighley and ten from Halifax - that a football stadium at Hayes has been booked.

Only one bid - of £1,000 - for Hirst Mill, Saltaire, was made when it was offered for auction at the Empress Hotel, Bradford, last night by John H. Raby. The mill, one of the few in this country still to use water power, has produced flock and bedding since 1913. After the auctioneer had told a large audience that a number of pre-sale inquiries had had been made about the property he asked for a bid. A man said: "I'll give you £1,000 for it." But he was told: "I'm afraid that's no good at all."
