Representatives from the region's Chambers of Commerce are heading off to Mongolia on a trade mission to help local businesses.
Chamber Management Services (CMS), the International Services provider to Bradford, Leeds and York & North Yorkshire Chambers of Commerce, will lead a trip to the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar in September.
The trip is to identify opportunities for Yorkshire firms. In 1999, exports to Mongolia totalled $500,000 US dollars, but British firms only had a tiny slice of the market.
CMS international trade manager, Malcolm Sewell, said: "Yorkshire business people can explore this developing market in detail, gaining lots of experience into the bargain, and hopefully see their company benefit.''
