Pub manager John Nicholson is preparing for a gruelling fundraising trek - by walking his dog.
The 52-year-old father-of-two, who runs the Marmaville pub and restaurant in Church Lane, Mirfield, hasn't had time to train for his 100km trek in the Himalayees in January. Instead, he is practising by going walkies with the family pet - five-year-old collie cross labrador Beth.
Mr Nicholson, who has previously completed the 42-mile Lyke Wake Walk across the Yorkshire Moors, will have to walk between eight and ten thousand miles a day during the ten-day trek.
He is fundraising to reach the £2,500 target he needs to take part in the trip and hopes to boost the £1,000 he already has with a pub crawl over the August Bank Holiday.
