Gomersal Park Hotel in Moor Lane hosted the third annual Yorkshire Pudding Championships to mark Yorkshire Day, August 1st. Organised by the Spenborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce, it was split into professional and amateur chefs. Entrants had to bake a Yorkshire pudding, marked on appearance, texture and taste. Judges were crews from Cleckheaton fire station, winners received a certificate and meal prizes.
