Otley Town AFC have got new kit sponsoirs folr the coming season in McFarlane Transport.

MacFarlanes will have their company logo on the front of the shirts. Moores Windows have also kindly sponsored training tops for the second team.

The club is looking for interested people or local businesses to sponsor kits for the club's other teams. The club runs three senior teams and 15 junior teams.

Secretary Keith Urquhart said: "As you can imagine, running 18 teams takes a lot of organising and sponsorship for so many teams is hard to come by.

"Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor can ring me on 01943 466826."

Town's series of pre-season friendly matches got off to a flying start last Thursday, when they visited the Yorkshire Bank team that is based at Moortown in Leeds.

The first-half was very competitive with both sides playing good flowing football and the teams turned around with the score 1-1. The second-half saw the visitors take over and run out 6-1 winners.

Scorers for Town were: Bob Johnson (2), Duncan McCarthy (2) and Stephen Boddy (2).

On Saturday Town played Harrogate Railway Reserves and continued their good pre-season form with a convincing 3-0 win.

A scrappy first-half ended well when Wagstaff broke through onto a hopeful ball forward and coolly steered the ball past the 'keeper.

Town improved their passing in the second-half and Joe Lunn made ammends for an earlier missed penalty to fire home from an acute angle. A fine finish from Lee Grice rounded off the scoring to keep Otley's optimism for the coming season high.
