A giant loaf baked in the shape of a Yorkshire rose was unveiled in Shipley as the town became a focus for regional pride.
A special programme of events was staged in the town centre to celebrate Yorkshire Day. The fun kicked off with a procession, accompanied by the Salvation Army Band, from Asda to Shipley Town Hall from where the Yorkshire flag was flown and the Declaration of Integrity was read at 11.26am to symbolise the 1,126 years since the Ridings were first recorded.
Townsfolk gathered to join in a rendition of the Yorkshire anthem On Ilkley Moor Baht'at while bakers from Asda unveiled their giant rose, pictured.
Meanwhile, Bradford couple, Tracy Green and Andy Waud had double reason to celebrate the birth of their daughter on Yorkshire Day.
As well as getting their special delivery, they also received a special commemorative gift from Yorkshire Electricity, because little Zoe Sandra was the first baby born in Bradford on the county's historic day.
Tracy, 23, of Ravenscliffe, Bradford, gave birth to her daughter at Bradford Royal Infirmary at 12.54am. Zoe was 5lb 11oz and is Tracy's first child.
