Bradford Park Avenue's pre-season friendly with Guiseley Nethermoor planned for tomorrow has been switched to Monday.

But there are still matches involving four local non-league sides this weekend.

Guiseley are among them as they make the journey to Plumpton Park to face Eccleshill United tonight.

United also brought news of a fixture change when they announced they are to host a Bradford City XI this Wednesday August 11 (7pm).

They should have faced Otley Town but that game has been put back to Thursday (7.30pm).

Tomorrow sees Liversedge entertaining Peterlee New Town and Thackley away to Pontefract Collieries.

Park Avenue manager Trevor Storton has not ruled out his side being involved in a practice match before they meet Guiseley but insisted it will be difficult to arrange a suitable alternative. "The short notice that tomorrows game is off has not given us much opportunity," he said last night.

"But we have rung round a few contacts and are trying to fix something up for tomorrow."

Though tomorrow's proposed fixture was decided after an initial conversation between Storton and Guiseley number two Phil Sharpe, manager Neil Parsley nobly accepted responsibility for the misunderstanding.

"It was down to naivety on my part really," he said. "I didn't know there was a gentleman's agreement that the football club did not play on a day when the cricket side had a home game."

Farsley Celtic ran out 2-0 winners at Yorkshire Amateurs last night and new signing Darren France, from North Ferriby United, was again on target.

Andy Lamb, signed from Horsforth St Mary's, completed the win. Assistant manager Steve Learoyd said: "It was a very encouraging display, if we had scored seven or eight it would have been just reward."
