Elland-based recruitment and training group Quantica has seen its income shoot up by 80 per cent in the last six months. Figures for the half-year to June 2001 show the company's turnover at £16.7m, compared to £9.3m for the same period in 2000.
The firm's unadjusted operating profit was also up 31 per cent, to £2.1m, with earnings per share up 18 per cent to 3.3p. Quantica achieved strongest growth in its healthcare division, which doubled output, but noted 'significant downturn' in other areas.
Chairman Tony Gartland said: "The balance and strength of our business has been highlighted in the current market.
"We are still maintaining forward momentum, although not at the pace we would like."
