A talented young hairdresser from Cullingworth has proved she is a cut above the rest.
Carly Davidson, 18, of Blantyre Court has been awarded Apprentice of the Year by Keighley College .
The award came as a total surprise to Carly who was "thrilled to bits" to receive the accolade.
She says: "I didn't really want to go to the college awards evening but my tutor persuaded me to go.
"I was really surprised when they announced that I'd won Apprentice of the Year and I'm really chuffed to get it."
In recognition of her achievement she was presented with a certificate and hair care products.
Carly, who has successfully completed her two-year level two NVQ hairdressing course at Keighley College, is now looking to do an advanced level three course.
The former Beckfoot Grammar School student has done all her training at Hair Flair in Halifax Road, Cullingworth.
