A couple are on the lookout for a Bradford business willing to play host to 600 charitable line dancers.
Raymond Colley and Jennifer Boase, pictured, were devastated last month when a charity line dance they organised had to be cancelled.
The event was to be part of the Bradford Festival finale in Centenary Square on July 7. But the threat of a National Front march forced the celebrations to be abandoned.
While Mr Colley, of Thornton, was telling disappointed volunteers in Centenary Square the event had been called off, he found himself caught up in the riots which erupted in the city later that day.
And he ended up giving first aid to a terrified young woman suffering heart palpitations, slumped in a shop doorway.
The 600 volunteers had secured about £5,000 in sponsorship which was to be donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
But now the couple cannot find any business willing to play host to the event - so the money is still waiting to be collected.
Mr Colley said: "We were both devastated that the event got cancelled, because we had been preparing for eight months and we were the only charity event lined up for that day."
Mrs Boase added: "I was heartbroken. I was so upset my daughter took me off to Scarborough for the day to cheer me up.
"We know there are so many thousands of pounds out there waiting to be collected. I just thought it was such a shame that something like this should be spoilt because Bradford really isn't like that. The people here do get on well with each other.
"Now we are just desperate to carry out the event anyway."
She said they were looking for any large outdoor venue where the dance could be held.
"We are just appealing to any business which could lend us anything like a supermarket car park for an hour and a half.
"All we want to do is be able to do our dance - and raise this money."
