ACTwo Bradford sisters saw their hopes of breaking a world swimming record sink at the weekend.
Dee Llewellyn, 23, and her sister Liane, 19, had hoped to swim the length of England's largest lake, Windermere, in under nine hours and 15 minutes.
But halfway through the marathon feat Dee, who lives with her sister and their parents in Radfield Road, Odsal, became sick - and that added vital minutes to her time.
Dee said: "I was on target for the world record during the first half of the race but I was sick in the second half through my feeding and that slowed me down.
"I still came first, and I'm really pleased that my sister came second in a time of ten hours and 20 minutes, which was really great."
Despite the fact that Dee clocked a finishing time of nine hours and 24 minutes for the 21-mile race she had the consolation that she retained the world record which she set in 1999.
