Woodside Community Association has replied to the invitation by Bradford's Action Group for Mentally Handicapped People to a rally at St. George's Hall in September. "We discussed the letter and were extremely interested. We said we would support it and give it publicity in our news sheet," said Mr Luke Kearns, the association's chairman.

Potatoes are temporarily "under the counter". A shop to shop search today by a staff reporter brought no results. "I have half a sack" confided a greengrocer in Rawson fish fruit market, "but I have to save them for my regular customers. I allow them 2lb. each just to help them out." Probably they are still in the ground. Since the price control, farmers are leaving them to grow so that they will get more for them eventually.
