VISCOUNT David Linley, the son of Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon, talked to design students at Harewood House.
Lord Linley, himself a furniture designer, was taking part in the ongoing Open House education programme at Harewood.
He spent the morning looking at some pieces of Chippendale furniture before giving a lecture on some of the world's most extravagant and unusual pieces of furniture.
Called Extraordinary Furniture - also the title of his book - he also talked about the people who had commissioned, designed and owned the furniture.
After lunch, Lord Linley gave a free lecture to furniture design students, tutors, staff and apprentices from Leeds College of Art and Design, Mark Asplin Whiteley and Treske of Thirsk.
