BRADFORD Bulls' Guiseley-based coach Brian Noble is hoping to crown his first season at the helm of the Super League giants by steering them to glory in Saturday's Grand Final.

His side face a rousing battle against Wigan Warriors at OId Trafford and Noble is anxious that his side crown their fine season by picking up rugby league's most treasured domestic trophy.

Bulls go into battle boosted by the fact that they beat Wigan two weeks ago in the Qualification Semi-final but Noble knows only too well that Wigan will be out to exact rapid revenge.

The situation is strangely familiar to 1999 when Bulls thrashed St Helens in the semi-final only to be surprisingly beaten by them in the Grand Final.

Noble said: "It is going to be a big, tough game but we are ready. The lads have prepared well and winning the Grand Final would crown a good season's work."

The Bulls topped Super League in the regular season and were beaten finalists in the Challenge Cup but now winning is all that concerns them.

And Noble is anxious for them to shoot down talk that they have had the advantage of playing on a 'small pitch' at Valley Parade this season.

He said: "People say we won't be able to cope with Wigan out wide at Old Trafford but the fact is that Valley Parade is actually a metre wider than Old Trafford .

Noble, who served Bulls as a player and assistant-coach before replacing Australian Matthew Elliott in the top job last May said: "There are also critics who say we are a tough, bully-boy side, they tend to forget all the tries our backs have have scored.

"The lads have played some smashing rugby this season. I have been really proud of them but I desperately want them to get their reward and beat Wigan to take the Grand Final."
