By a remarkable coincidence two of tomorrow's second round Intermediate Cup ties involving local sides are repeats of pre-season friendlies.

The Bees are at North Two East Wheatley Hills, where they won a warm-up fixture 18-14 on the last Saturday in August.

"It was a hot day and we didn't play particularly well," remembered Bees coach Matt Greenwood of the clash at Doncaster.

"They have a big pack who are aggressive and abrasive, and we expect they will play ten-man rugby.

"Wheatley Hills have nothing to lose and we expect a hard game. It is a small pitch and we will have to knock them down behind the tackle line, and when we get the ball suck them in and move the ball to the outside backs."

The Bees make two changes from last week's home league victory over Sheffield. Skipper Steve McManus is out with a groin strain, so Jon-Paul Rimmington moves to outside centre, Matthew Booth coming in on the wing.

Flanker John Potter, who came on as a replacement last Saturday, has now recovered from flu and replaces Rob Padgett.

Cleckheaton are at Pontefract - a repeat not only of a pre-season friendly, but also of last year's second round tie, which Cleck won 34-24 on their way to the semi-finals. Joff Ward replaces John Bentley in the centre, Steve Crawshaw coming in for Steve Wragg at hooker, both Bentley and Wragg dropping to the bench.

Baildon, smarting from a 61-3 Yorkshire Division Four defeat at Wakefield Cougars, look in much better shape for their second round Junior Knockout Cup tie at home to Wetherby.

The hosts select from 20, and key line-out man Lee Brown and the talented and versatile Chris Smithies are back from holiday. Sniping scrum half James Dawson returns after illness, and both flanker Jim Hutton and centre or flanker Jimmy Lyons are available again after work commitments. Nick Oddy has recovered from a thigh strain to challenge for a wing berth.

Unchanged Keighley face a repeat of cup and league matches in successive weeks against the same opponents. In the first round it was Ripon (both at home) and now it is Ilkley (both away).

Bradford Salem pick from 19 for their tie at Old Otliensians - a repeat of a very tight Aire-Wharfe Cup tie from two seasons ago which Salem won.

The visitors have injury doubts about back-row forward Darren Close (groin), flanker Steve Cowman (foot) and centre Neil Klenk (calf).
