Mark Withers has two good reasons for travelling from Australia to see his son Mick play in tomorrow's Tetley's Super League Grand Final against Wigan.

The first is the hope that Bradford Bulls do better than they did when he saw them in the 1999 Grand Final against St Helens.

The second is that it gives him another chance to go to Old Trafford, which took his breath away two years ago.

"There were even 15 people out on the pitch at half-time replacing the divots," remembered Mark.

"I was also blown away by Murrayfield last year when the Bulls won the Challenge Cup. It was great to see them walking into the grandstand to pick up their winners' medals.

"They never do that in Australia, but they always do it over here. In Australia they usually have a dias in the middle of the ground.

"I bought a mate over and when we won the cup and got a bus at Cedar Court Hotel and came through Bradford it was phenomenal. All the people were lining the streets.

"You wouldn't get that in Australia, except perhaps at Newcastle. They're the big-gest team - the People's Team, like the Bulls.

"And the set-up at Bradford is such that some teams - including Australian ones - should really have a look at themselves."

Mark - a student in computers and web design - who is over here with 23-year-old daughter Rachael, said: "Mick is looking forward to the final, but I have to say that refereeing standards aren't that great. Michael never touched the ball in the 1999 Grand Final in the build-up to Leon Pryce's disallowed try."
