Long Lee Under-16s raced away with a 6-1 victory over Barwick-in-Elmet in the first round of the County Cup. The team is even stronger than the side which reached the semi-final of the competition two years ago and J Cunning scored their first goal within 30 seconds.
Gareth Holmes followed up with to and M Hauker gave them a 4-0 lead at half time. The fitness and skill of the Keighley boys shone in the second half with Holmes scoring two more while Ollie and J Kershaw added the remaining goals. Scott nelson was man of the match.
Long Lee Under-15s B beat Nabwood 8-2 with goals from Robert McClean, Joseph Flaherty, Thomas Gill, Matthew Harrison, Matthew Langford and a hat-trick from Daniel Sylvester. Thomas Abberton was man of the match.
Long Lee Under-13's rattled in the goals to secure a 10-3 victory over a spirited Eldwick side. Calum Flaherty was on the mark with five goals supported by Craig Morris (2), James Leach (2) and Lee Rickaby.
Long Lee Under-11s capped a fine display with a 6-1 victory at Earby. Scorers were Sam Rooke (2), Oliver Haghey, Tom Tetley, James Bailey and Aaron Stack.
Long Lee Under-10s B beat Guiseley B 2-1 in a thrilling top of the table clash. Jimmy Marshalled supplied Sam bailey with the opener, and Bailey was involved again as he sent Thomas Arthurs clear to score from close range. Guiseley hit back making it an exciting last few minutes with Niale Burke pulling off a superb save. R J Gaughan held up with Lon Lee defence and was joint man of the match with Sam bailey.
Long Lee Under-10s C secured a 3-1 victory over Salts B. They were 1-0 down at the break before Shaun Redman equalised. Sean Quinlan added the second and man of the match Ryan Steward sealed victory.
Oakworth Under-16s picked up three points from their hard fought 2-1 victory over West Park. Steve Davies scored after 20 minutes and they held the lead until deep in the second half. West Park equalised after Oakworth failed to clear, but a bad mistake by the visitors' goalkeeper allowed Daz Jackson to score the winner. Harry Milner was man of the match.
Oakworth Under-14s played Burley in terrible conditions on Sunday. They secured victory with goals from J Gallagher and W Lee was man of the match.
Oakworth Under-13s held on to their 100 per cent record by beating Apperley Bridge 5-2. Oakworth's goals came from Joe Judson, Jason Walton and Ross Bailey (3). Man of the match awards went to Ross Bailey and John Butcher.
Oakworth Under-12s lost a thriller 3-2 at Queensbury. Oaks opened the scoring through Chris Joy but the home side scored three times before half time. In a much improved second period Oaks forced the pace through Casey Dickson, Glen Walbank and man of the match Paul Owens, but could only manage a single goal, scored by Adam Spencer.
Oakworth Under-10s A secured a comfortable 3-0 away victory against Undercliffe A. Two first half goals from man of the match Ben Lamb and another after the beak secured the win. There were strong performances at the back from Michael Clegg, and Joshua Isherwood.
Oakworth Under-10s B were the better team in a 1-1 draw at Undercliffe. A first half goal was scored by Joshua Hastings after excellent work by Thomas Smith. Undercliffe drew level from the penalty spot. Man of the match Lewis Walker was strong in defence helped by goalkeeper Philip Pickles who pulled off some great saves.
Oakworth Under-9s A scored 7 against Queensbury with two from George Turner and a single goal from Jake Fishwick in the first half. A good team performance brought further goals from Tom Hudson, Luke Chapman, Joe Alvey and man of the mat Mathew Moore.
Oakworth Under-9s B had a tough first half against Queensbury. After a goalless opening period Oaks proved the stronger team, securing a 4-0 victory with goals from man of the match Joe Foster (2), Jamie O'Neill and Thomas Kerr.
Oakworth Under-8s A beat Gomersall 2-0 at home with goals from Daniel Kaye and William Whiteoak. Kyle Roberts was man of the match.
Oakworth Under-7s A went down 6-1 to Silsden after taking an early lead through Daniel Meegan. Oaks never stopped trying against the good Silsden side and Ryan Cox was man of the match.
Oakworth Under-7s B lost 9-1 to Silsden. After an even opening period Silsden scored four quick goals. Man of the match Danny King scored Oakworth's goal after running the length of the field.
Oakbank Under-10s had a convincing 6-1 victory over Silsden C. Oakbank played some excellent football with the team working well together. Scorers were Joe Jalil (3), Max Whitley, Michael Pearson and Guy Earwaker with Silsden scoring a late consolation goal. The man of the match award was shared by the whole team.
Oakbank Under-9 A team were held to a 3-3 draw by Wilsden. Although they were never behind defensive errors cost them the points. Scorers for Oakbank were Nathan Lomax, Joe Gaughan, and Ryan Stubbs. Nico Earwaker was man of the match.
Oakbank Under-9s B registered a 2-0 victory in their match. Scorers were Christian Hogg and Lewis Rathall. Charlotte Mitchell was player of the match.
Silsden Under-13s beat Eccleshill B 5-1 despite a below-par performance. It was 2-0 at half time thanks to man of the match Adam McLean and Andrew North. Lee McGowan increased their advantage before Eccleshill pulled a goal back. Further goals came from Luke Scott and Andy Cooke who scored his first of the season. Their beg test comes this Sunday against Eccleshill A who are second in the table and also unbeaten.
Silsden Under-7s A beat Oakworth a 6-1 with goals from Ben Grary 92), Luke Wilson, Oliver Peacock, Chris Wademan and an own goal. Chris Wademan was man of the match.
Silsden Under-7s B beat Oakworth B 8-1 with goals from man of the match James Wilson, Luke Inman, Chris Gill, Jack Lee and Jack Leech.
Silsden under 11's A recorded an excellent 2 - 1 win at home to Otley. Chris Cummins put Silsden ahead with a fierce low shot from the edge of the box. Otley hit back to level the scores, before Lee Thompson made sure of the win with an unstoppable left shot giving the Otley keeper no chance. Man of the Match Rob Windle and Jake McEneaney were outstanding in defence along with Goalkeeper Tom Smith who made three excellent saves.
Silsden under 11's B recorded and easy 5-0 victory over Otley B. Sam Ash scored the first two and Peter Kulik made it 3-0. Nathan Bradbury completed the rout with two second half goals.
