The Alliance match of the day between Midland and Three Horses didn't disappoint -- with two attacking teams producing a 10-goal thriller.

Both teams produced good football and Midland had a slight edge in the early stages as they played down the hill. They opened the scoring after 15 minutes and soon added a second.

Three Horses reduced the margin only for Midland to find the net twice more to make it 4-1 at the break.

Taking advantage of the slope the visitors pulled it back to 4-3, but Midland snatched a fifth when a defender tried to play his way out of trouble. The goal was the killer blow and Midland went on to score two more goals to take a 7-3 victory. Midland scorers were Andy Nelson (5), N Feraro and M Whittaker.

Keighley United must have felt as if they had pulled off a major victory when they restricted Skipton to a 5-3 victory. United had conceded 31 goals in their first three games but the flood ended as they held Skipton to a 1-1 draw at half time - and the Keighley side had missed a penalty.

Both teams found the net early in the second half, but experience began to take its toll and Skipton scored a further three goals. Ian Baranard scored four of Skipton's goals and R Miller got the fifth.

New Inn managed to record a 2-0 victory over Wilsden despite giving a below-par performance. Man of the match David Orme and D Armstrong were the New Inn scor3rs while Wilsden missed a host of good chances.

Bocking pulled off a 3-0 victory over Shoulder of Mutton. Two of the goals came in the first half and they completed the win in the second half.

Cottingley lost 5-3 at home to St Annes Celtic after going 2-1 down at the break. Cottingley's scorers were Oliver Metcalfe 92) and Mark Lafferty.
