Oxenhope Recreation dented Embsay hopes of hanging on to their Craven League title.

The Worth Valley side pulled off a 2-1 victory after Embsay had been forced to search the area for a vacant ground. Their own pitch is out of bounds because of continuing foot and mouth restrictions and their alternative pitch at Silsden was ruled unfit. The game finally went ahead at Marley.

Despite the hard work behind the scenes they had to play with ten men and the score was 1-1 at the break.

Oxenhope conceded an own-goal after 15 minutes but five minutes before the interval David Collier levelled the scores. Steven Potts scored the winner in a tight contest.

Newly promoted Bronte Wanderers continued to make a good impression with a 6-2 victory at Keighley Lifts. The home side went ahead after only two minutes, but Joe Blacka replied with the first of his hat-trick. He completed the 'treble' to give his sided a 3-1 lead at the break.

Neil Rollins extended Wanderers' lead before Lifts hit back to stay in contention. Rollins made victory secure with his second and hit the cross-bar at the death for Nigel Smith to hammer home the rebound.

Carleton's bid to stay among the front-runners after being promoted last season suffered a setback when they were beaten 5-0 at Grindleton. Goals were scored by Darren Barrow (2), Chris Cairns and Stuart Hickling (2).

Intake blasted 11 past Division One leaders Colne Shepherds to remind them life can be at the sharp end.

Richard Lambert strengthened his credentials one of the top players in the Division with a four-goal second-half display that earned him the team's man of the match award. There were also hat-tricks for Mark Roberts and Peter Burrows, Gareth Christopher claiming the other Intake goal.

A much more even contest unfolded at Gargrave, where visitors Embsay Reserves claimed the points with the only goal of the game. Dave Painter struck the winner in the second-half.

Bronte Wanderers Reserves hit back from being a goal down after 15 minutes at home to Cononley Sports and secured 2-1 win. Richard Calvert's goal from a direct free-kick gave the visitors a 1-0 interval lead in a half where both sides created chances.

The crucial score came when Lee Nelson was brought down in the penalty area and James Ley fired home from the spot. Ten minutes later Edward Waterhouse, back in action after a season's absence, scored the winner.

Cononley applied late pressure, but Paul Calvert was in commanding form at the heart of the Wanderers' defence as they held out.

Lothersdale Athletic drew 2-2 with Barnoldswick United in a game of missed chances. Lothersdale were first to strike with two first-half goals from James Green, but a goal from Nicholas Barnwell cut the deficit.

Crowther equalised from a goal-mouth scramble in the closing stages, but Lothersdale were in no mood to let the game slip.

The second 11-goal display came when Sutton beat Skipton Bulldogs Reserves 11-1 in the second divison. Dogs are struggling at the moment and kicked off with only eight men before reinforcements arrived. They were only a goal down after six minutes and 3-1 adrift at the interval thanks to a goal from Luca Schepisi, but Sutton punished them severely after the break.

Fred Page and Daniel Newton both scored hat-tricks, with other goals coming from Ian Thompson, James Eaton, Gareth Brown jnr, Neil Hardaker and David Geldard.

Skipton LMS Reserves have been matching the good start of their senior team and came away from Bradley Reserves with a 4-0 win.

Goals came from David Williams, Mark Jackson, Jimmy Potts and Shaun West. Referee Pete Allen earned praise for his handling of the game.

Grindleton Reserves managed to recover from a 2-0 deficit at Horton to get on level terms at the interval but then slipped to a 5-3 defeat.

Honours were even at Silsden Athletic when they shared the points in a 4-4 draw at home to Barrowford United. Silsden led 3-1 with Shaun Whitaker scoring twice and Carl Bartley also on target, but Glenn Atkins also claimed a brace for the visitors and Simon Plant equalised.

A goal by Thomas Clark gave the home side scent of victory, but Thomas Rogerson tucked away a last-minute penalty to deny them.

First use of the slope at Oxenhope Rec Reserves was no help to Ingleton as the home side took a 2-0 half time lead with goals from Andrew Hawkins and Christopher Cousins. They swept to a comfortable win with Hawkins and Cousins each adding a second and Stephen Buckley scoring his side's fifth.

A total of 47 goals were scored in five Division Three matches.

Pick of the bunch was McBrides' 7-5 win against Cononley Reserves. The home side were leading 5-3 mid-way through the second-half, but McBrides found the target four times to snatch victory, despite the outstanding work of Mark Wilson in the Cononley goal.

Cononley's attack posed serious problems for the visitors and goals by Mathew Lumsden (2), Rob Scarr, Stuart Parkin and Lee Athersmith put them in a strong position. But the visitors scored four in the last quarter. Roger Norman (2), Geoffrey O'Brien (2), Paul Clarke, Keiran Craggs and Darren Whalley were their marksmen.

After Intake's 1st team scored 11 their reserve string conceded as many to Carleton Reserves, who they had beaten the previous week. Intake scored first but once Carleton found the route to goal, they were relentless. Dale Nicholson led the way with five, and other scorers were Nicholas Manger(2), Ben Ashby, Richard Osadzenko, Stuart Stead and Neil Earnshaw.

There were also plenty of goals at Cowling Reserves where the home side edged out Hellifield Reserves 5-4. Chris Lyon opened the scoring for Cowling only for the visitors to snatch the lead with goals by Dale Denham and Christopher Lord. Cowling responded with strikes from Paul Kerrigan and Ben Allwood to lead 3-2 at half-time.

Bob Mathews made it 4-3 before Hellifield rallied again with a second from Denham and another from James Newhouse, but Cowling had the last word when Josh McNee delivered a perfect corner and goalkeeper Stuart Sugden headed the winner.

Pendle Athletic secured their first league win in fine style when they beat Skipton Town Reserves 8-1. Scorers were Paul Sconce (4), Kurt Wilkinson (2), Daniel Blackburn and Paul Taylor. Andrew Whitton collected Town's consolation.

Earby and Grassington finished at 2-2 with al four goals scored in the first half.
