Bradford Bulls will be aiming to prove they can perform on the big stage when they take on Wigan in tonight's Tetley's Super League Grand Final.

A near full house is expected at Old Trafford for the clash of the form teams of 2001, and that will test their big-match nerve as well as their supreme skills.

Wigan, beaten finalists 12 months ago, have eyes on their first trophy for three years, while the Bulls - no strangers to major finals - are out to disprove the theory that they freeze on the big occasion.

The Bulls are appearing in their sixth final of the Super League era, but looking for only their second win.

Four times - three of them in the Challenge Cup final - they have succumbed to bogey side St Helens, and captain Robbie Paul admits they have yet to fully answer their critics' taunts.

"The players are not deaf and blind to what people say about us cracking in the big games," he admitted. "It would be nice to put those comments behind us. I have been in five finals and I've only one won of them - maybe it's me!"

The Bulls have won only five of their 16 head-to-head battles with Wigan since 1996, despite finishing top of the table three times out of six, but this season the matches stand at two apiece and the Bulls have the psychological advantage of having beaten their rivals a fortnight ago.

The Paul brothers contributed all the points in their side's 24-18 play-off victory at Valley Parade which earned them a second week off, Robbie scoring two tries and Henry landing eight goals from nine attempts.
