Bradford's own world darts champion was given a standing ovation when he returned home last night to tackle some local would-be champions.
And John 'Boy' Walton suffered a couple of 'shock' defeats before a packed house at East Ward Labour Club in Otley Road, Undercliffe.
He was joined by Trina Gulliver, the first Embassy world women's champion, who limited her defeats to just one on the night.
Two T&A competition winners were also given the chance to play against the world champions, but Eddie Nelson and Ursula Pelling failed to spring an upset.
John 'Boy' has just enjoyed a successful trip to Kuala Lumpur, where he represented England for the first time in the World Cup.
He won a gold medal as England finished champions and added another gold with England colleague Andy Fordham in the pairs tournament.
In the singles he collected a bronze medal after reaching the semi-finals. He also returned with the Malaysian Open trophy.
Trina, who won the British Ladies Open title in Liverpool, also travelled to Malaysia, but was hindered by discomfort in her neck and shoulders after the long flight and was beaten in the quarter-finals of the pairs and singles events.
Last night's Embassy roadshow was hosted by TV darts presenter Tony Green. T&A
