THE 25th annual bonfire and fireworks display staged by the local Lions club will be held in Ilkley on Saturday.
The sky over Ilkley will be alight with all the colours of the rainbow - and others - from glitter mines, crackle candles, bombettes, silver barrages, assorted shells, crackling comets,
brocades and plumes.
Ilkley Moor Lions Club - formerly Wharfedale Lions Club - will host their annual spectacular which draws thousands of people to the East Holmes Field.
The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the firework display will start at 7.30 pm.
Lions secretary Jim Shelton of Burley-in-Wharfedale has been involved in organising the bonfire and display for all of its 25 years. The event raises funds for local and national charities.
This year's main sponsor is the Po Sang ll Chinese Restaurant.
There will be seven firework sequences and two set pieces and all are sponsored by local businesses. These include: The Candy Box, Special Occasions, Rombalds Hotel and Restaurant, Artolicana, Mark Russell Furniture Clinic, Bluebird International and Pinsharp Photo Services all of Ilkley and the Red Lion Hotel of Burley-in-Wharfedale.
Entry is £2 for adults by
programme purchased before the day (or £3 on the gate) and £1 for children by programme or £2 on the gate.
