A Bradford flag designed by children will be unveiled at the city's Christmas-lights switch-on ceremony.
Pupils across the district have been invited to come up with designs for a Bradford flag as part of the district's European Capital of Culture bid.
And Telegraph & Argus readers will have chance to vote for their favourite designs.
The competition is the brainchild of Heckmondwike brand strategy and design company Bluedoor Associates which wants the flag flown at sports and entertainment events, and on Bradford buildings, as a mark of pride in the district.
Entries will be featured in the T&A so readers can vote for designs.
The winner will be chosen by a judging panel of representatives from Bradford organisations, including the T&A.
It will be made into a flag by Bluedoor and hoisted at the Christmas lights switch-on. The company has been given the go-ahead from Bradford Council to get involved with the event, to be held in November.
The idea is to design a flag with images representing Bradford and its multicultural diversity.
Bluedoor managing director Andrew Williamson said the aim was to restore the pride in Bradford that was dented after the riots.
Rose Wilkinson, assistant head-teacher at Belle Vue Girls School said pupils' designs included the Yorkshire white rose, and Bradford City colours.
The deadline for flag design entries has been extended to Friday, November 2.
