Bradford Bulls have signed Brandon Costin from Huddersfield Giants, as was exclusively forecast in the Telegraph & Argus on Wednesday, October 3.
The 29-year-old, who has signed a one-year deal, has been touted in some quarters as a replacement for stand-off Henry Paul, but Bulls chairman Chris Caisley said today that isn't necessarily so.
"We have actually signed him as a centre, although he can provide cover at half-back. We have three vying for the half-back roles in Paul Deacon, Leon Pryce and Robbie Paul.
"Wigan and a few other clubs were also trying to sign Brandon, so we are delighted to have got him. He is a vastly underrated player. He scored 15 tries in 28 games in a struggling side last season, and that is some record."
The Bulls' hopes of playing their World Club Championship game at Valley Parade have been scuppered by the British winter. The match against Newcastle Knights has been provisionally arranged for the McAlpine Stadium, which has undersoil heating, on Sunday, January 27.
