Otley Town 7
Ilkley AFC 1
Ilkley were the visitors to the Old Showfield in this Wharfedale FA Challenge Cup first round match and found the experience all a bit too much.
In the first half Ilkley's defenders found it difficult to cope with the pace of James Firth and Dean Wagstaff and with Dominique Blair getting in behind the two central defenders on so many occasions, it wasn't a surprise when Otley took a 3-0 lead.
At this point Ilkley came back into the game, showing some promise and pulled one back through Richard Giles.
Town quickly extended their lead again stretching the game well beyond Ilkley's reach.
The onslaught on the Ilkley goal continued with the cars in the car park taking more hits than the goal itself.
Scorers for Otley Town were Dominique Blair, who had an outstanding game and netted twice; Lee Grice who also scored twice, Wagstaffe, Firth and Langhorn.
l On Saturday Town travel to Golcar in the Premier Division Cup.
Otley Town Reserves 5
Kirby Malzeard 0
Town Reserves hit back in fine style after the disappointments of the previous week's defeat by Boroughbridge with this destruction of Kirby Malzeard in the Harrogate League.
Town welcomed Matt Budden, Chris Stuart and Ian Wolfenden back into the starting line up and all three impressed in what was a much-improved performance.
The only goal in an even first-half came from the trusty boot of skipper Bobby Johnson and the game was in the balance up until Budden made it two early in the second-half.
This was the signal for Town to run riot with three further goals in the last 25 minutes, two by Kirkpatrick, continuing his successful transition from goalkeeper.
l Town are on cup duty this week with Thirsk the visitors to the Old Showfield. No doubt Thirsk will prove worthy opponents, as they did last year in the first round of the League Challenge Cup. (Kick-off 2.30pm).
l The visit by Otley Town A to Masham was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. This week Town A travel to Kirk Deighton for a league match. (Kick-off 2.30pm).
