Burley-in-Wharfedale soccer trainee Danny Forrest has made a rapid rise after joining Bradford City as YTS player in the summer.
The youngster who had a reputation as a hot shot striker from an early age when he started out playing for Burley Juniors was included in City's first team squad over the weekend.
He celebrated his 17th birthday on Tuesday by being named as a substitute for the game at Millwall which City lost 3-1.
Unfortunately for Danny he did not get on the pitch.
The 5ft 11 ins striker signed Associate Schoolboy forms with City as a 9 year-old and then worked his way through the Centre of Excellence.
He was rewarded with a YTS contract when he left school last June.
Danny quickly made an impression in the youth team and marked his debut for the Reserves with the winning goal against Sunderland.
Then followed a goal against Manchester United Reserves last Thursday and then he was the surprise name on the team coach for the trip to St Andrew's.
Manager Jim Jeffries said of the youngsters elevation: "It is a little reward for him because he has done well in the last two reserve games.
"We want to get him involved and it is a good experience for him."
Danny said: "I was gutted when the Reserves lost to Manchester United but then after the game I was told that I was travelling to Birmingham with the first team and that was beyond my wildest dreams."
