A Bradford law firm is urging local employers and trades unions to join forces when it comes to health and safety.
Joan Pettingill, employment law expert with Last Cawthra Feather, says co-operation with employee representatives is important when firms are developing safety measures in the workplace.
She said: "Employees and trade unions should be jointly involved at this stage.
"Companies also need to keep abreast of health and safety risk management issues and review performance regularly, or at least annually."
Ms Pettingill warned that prosecutions for breaches of health and safety regulations could lead to unlimited financial penalties and up to two years in jail.
